We Need Your Donations of Flies For This Amazing Program

Helping Cancer Survivors Through Fly Fishing

Reeling & Healing Midwest

About This Organization

The sport of fly-fishing has endured for thousands of years. Its therapeutic powers are renowned and have been well documented. Cancer has yet to be eradicated. Its destruction to the human spirit is unique to each individual affected, yet understood by all who walk the path to overcome the disease. When the human spirit, combined with courage and faith to overcome cancer, meets up with a river and the chance to fly-fish, well, magic just seems to happen. How do we know that? Many years of experiencing the magic at Reeling and Healing Midwest's retreat programs shows this to be true. Each individual who participates in the Reeling & Healing Midwest Retreat Programs is touched in a way that renews their spirit, their joy, their hope and their view of life.

It truly happens...every single time.

Reeling and Healing MidwestReeling & Healing Midwest is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is 100% donor-supported with a 100% volunteer staff, that champions fly-fishing wellness retreats for women battling and surviving cancer.

We are proud to share that Reeling & Healing Midwest is the only fully-licensed national charitable organization offering fly-fishing retreats for women with or surviving all types of cancer, championing retreat programs for men with cancer, and focusing efforts on care givers and survivors as well.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide participants with a one-of-a-kind experience, on and off the river, which renews their spirit and hope through the elements of fly fishing, nature, peer coaching, positive camaraderie and support.

How to Contribute

A message from Jeff

(Bwana-J from F&F forum)

A few weeks ago my wife and I watched a fishing show on the Outdoor Channel about an Organization that has a program to help people who's lives have been touched by Cancer. Using equipment donated for the program they get these folks started on fly fishing and its been a huge success. We all know about how being on the water eases stress and helps us maintain a positive mindset, well it does that and more for for those who's lives have been turned upside down by Cancer.

Fly & Float decided to put out a call to all of the fly tyers to help us put together a large fly donation to be sent to the Healing Waters program. Type of fly isn't important just about any type will do, Trout, Bass, Steelhead, Bluegill can all be put to good use with this program. Please be sure to add a card with your name to your donation. Your donations can be sent to Jeff at:

Jeff Kalbfleisch
6198 Mechanicsville Rd
Orwell. Ohio 44076

The flies will be boxed up and sent out around the end of September. If you would like to check this program out their web site is as follows: www.reelingandhealingmidwest.org If you donate them, these folks will get them into the hands of those in need. Thank you all in advance for helping with this project.
